Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival (D)
On arrival at Ho Chi Minh City, we will be greeted and driven to our hotel in the city centre. We will be free to wander around the hustle and bustle city. Before dinner, we enjoy one hour to enjoy Water puppet show in the Golden Theatre. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels &Vespa Tour After Dark (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we drive to visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which Vietnamese lived and fought during the American war. We will explore the maze of tunnels which some of them were widened to allow tourist access. We will also see the American Tank and some bomb craters left. Back to the city centre for lunch, we then visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, the two masterpieces of architecture in the city. We then stop at Ben Thanh Market with free time for shopping before going back to the hotel.
At around 6 PM, our Vespa driver will arrive at the hotel and we will explore the insider in the back of this vintage scooter. The ride starts from a nice cafe and then through different small alleys of Saigon with many stops for delicious street foods like Banh Xeo (Southern Pancake), grilled seafood. We also stop at a hidden Vietnamese-style coffee shop to enjoy the music like a local. The tour ends at another lively bar to change the music or in an ice-cream shop (if travelling with children) before ring back to the hotel. End of a hectic day with a nice sleep.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long (Cycling distance: 20km) (B, L, D)
Start from our hotel, we drive to Cai Be in the Mekong Delta to visit Cai Be floating market. Although, the market is not busy as it used to be but still a highlight of the trip. We then cruise in the small canals to visit some local cottage industries such as poprice, rice paper making, coconut candy cottage factory. Lunch in An Binh Island and start riding in the village’s roads through fruit orchards, nursery gardens in the shade of trees. Check in our homestay and enjoy a cool drink offered by friendly host. Relax and help the host with dinner cooking like a family member and spend the night in a homestay surrounded by lush garden.
Day 4: Vinh Long – Can Tho (Cycling distance: 65Km) (B, L, D)
Wake up by the sound of the countryside, we will take a walk though the village seeing local farmers starting their day. Back to the homestay for breakfast, we will take the boat to Vinh Long and then cycle for 40 KM in the back roads, passing through rice fields, villages. Lunch with Mekong Delta’s typical food will be in Tam Binh District before continue our 25-KM ride to Can Tho (25 KM), get on the ferry to cross the river and check in our hotel in Can Tho for the night.
Day 5: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (Cycling distance: 30 Km) – Departure (B, L, D)
Start early from the hotel, we take a boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market, seeing different boats purchase and sell local products. Back to hotel to check out before continue riding to O Mon and then to My Tho passing though beautiful scenery. On arrival in My Tho, we find our car to take us back to Ho Chi Minh City then to the airport to board your homeward departure flight. Tour ends.
